GIMP Transition
I was not big into graphics until I started coding XHTML and CSS. When I began my design journey (just a short time ago) I worked with graphics in Paint.net. I had learned layering and gradients with this program and was comfortable with the interface. I knew that GIMP was powerful, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around the split interface. That was until I was able to produce something like this by following a simple tutorial:

I am now hooked on GIMP and the different plug-ins that are available that can do amazing things. I have completed a few more tutorials and realized that I have just scratched the surface with this awesome software. I can’t wait to explore it more. If you have been hesitating to make the jump, don’t wait any longer. Find a written tutorial or watch the GIMP interface intros on YouTube to learn the basics. From there, the sky is the limit.
